History:
The Kid-Row boat was inspired by the long tradition of small training skiffs designed to introduce young people to rowing. As recreational boating and rowing clubs expanded in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there was a growing need for safe, stable boats sized specifically for children. Builders adapted classic rowboat designs, making them lighter, narrower, and easier to handle while maintaining balance and durability.
The Kid-Row reflects this heritage of hands-on learning and outdoor activity. Created to help young rowers develop confidence, coordination, and respect for the water, it blends traditional craftsmanship with practical design.
Today, the Kid-Row continues the legacy of teaching the fundamentals of rowing in a simple, enjoyable, and safe way, keeping maritime traditions alive for the next generation.
